Meet Your Yoga Instructor - Emily Day

Introduced to Yoga in 2009, Emily Day was originally drawn to the practice with the hopes of overcoming a severe eating disorder and conquering her struggle with post-traumatic experiences.

After five years of practice, true passion and authentic purpose converged when her incredible personal transformation inspired her to become a Certified Instructor to share the healing and awareness she had found with others.

Earning her initial 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2014 through Moksha Yoga International, Day has gone on to complete her Prenatal and Postpartum Certification, as well as obtain a certification in Mental Health First Aid through the Mental Health Commission of Canada in 2017. She continues to attend workshops and seminars to enrich her education and further develop her unique set of skills.

Day finds joy in teaching the transformative powers of Yoga with groups of all ages and abilities, and shares her strong and encouraging voice in many locations and studios in the GTA and Kawartha regions. Since 2015 Day has been working for the Toronto District School Board introducing students to Yoga, mindfulness and meditation. With the recent launch of her business Modern Day Yoga, Day hopes to spread the love of Yoga by offering public affordable practices in community spaces, Yoga opportunities for Youth and Elderly, as well as Personalized in-home yoga classes for all levels of physical ability.

Ultimately able to overcome the struggles that initially drew her to Yoga, Day's purpose and path has been renewed with the mission to share her knowledge, passion and personal experiences to help those around her lead a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Emily will be hosting both On the Lake and In the Pool Paddleboard Yoga classes for Phiinom Adventure Sports.
